ℹ️Note: This guide was created using iOS version 26.1. Other versions may differ slightly, but the differences should generally be minimal. 

‼️Please note that installing eduroam on macOS is slightly different to the set up on iOS. We recommend following our separate Apple/macOS guide.

‼️You need internet connection to set up eduroam. We recommend using our HSBO_Gast Wi-Fi network for this. We also have a guide for connecting to this network on our website.

📲Download the iOS app “geteduroam”. 

➡️To do this, open the Apple App Store and search for “geteduroam”. The first result should be the correct app. Download and install the app.

☑️Once you have downloaded the app, open it. You will then be asked to enter the name of your university. 

➡️Enter “Hochschule Bochum” and select it from the list. This will ensure that you receive the correct settings and can enter the required information.

➡️ In the upper field, enter your Hochschul username followed by “@hs-bochum.de”.

‼️ This is essential to avoid error messages, even if you have entered everything correctly.

➡️In the lower field, enter your initial password. 

ℹ️For students, this is the same password you use for Moodle. For employees, use the password you use to log in to internal Hochschul systems.

➡️Once you have entered your details correctly, you will see a checkmark next to “Connected” below the information for Hochschule Bochum. 

ℹ️This indicates that you have successfully connected to the eduroam network.

‼️If you experience any problems with eduroam, you can tap the arrow to the right of “Connected” to delete the connection and set it up again.

✅You can now go to the settings to check. You should automatically connect to the eduroam network. 

❌If this does not happen, please go through all the steps again, as there may have been a small mistake or typo.
