Apple Mail (macOS)
Instructions for setting up the student university email address on macOS.
1. Open Settings
➡️Open the system settings and go to → Internet Accounts.
☑️Click on Add Account.
2. Enter your HSBO email address
➡️Then click Continue.
3. Select 'Other Mail Account'
4. Choose a name and enter your password
Enter:
• Name: desired display name
• Password: your HSBO account password
➡️Then click on Sign In.
5. Configure Server (IMAP) & Correct Username Field
Enter the following information and make sure that your username is entered correctly as well.
• Username: Your HSBO username
• Password should already be pre-filled from the previous step
• Incoming mail server: mail.stud.hs-bochum.de
• Outgoing mail server: mail.stud.hs-bochum.de
➡️Then click Sign In.
6. Select 'Mail' and finish setup
ℹ️Notes will not sync with your HSBO account. Only select 'Mail'.
✅Click Done to complete the setup.
