Mail Guide (Android) for Students
Step 1:
➡️Open the settings on your smartphone and go to the "Users and Accounts" menu.
Step 2:
➡️In this window, go to 'Add account'.
Step 3:
➡️Then, select 'Private (IMAP)'.
Step 4:
➡️Enter your email address at the top:
and click “Next”.
Step 5:
➡️Next, enter the password for your account. This is the same password you use for other university services, such as Moodle, and click “Next”.
Step 6:
➡️In the dialog box that opens, enter your username and password again, and enter “mail.stud.hs-bochum.de” as the server. Then click “Next”.
Step 7:
➡️Finally, configure your outgoing mail server and select “Authentication required”. Enter your username and password again, and enter “mail.stud.hs-bochum.de” as the server. Then click “Next”. Your email account has now been successfully configured.
❌Error messages
Regarding Step 6:
If you receive the error message “Unable to connect to the server,” check whether “mail.stud.hs-bochum.de” has been entered as the server.
Regarding Step 6:
If you receive the error message “Username or password is incorrect,” check your username and password. These are the same username and password you use for other university services, such as Moodle.
